Local-first archive

Dog profiles, memories, Preserve progress, Paw Signals, Dog Care Rhythm records and app-owned media are stored in PawChapter’s private on-device storage.

No tracking or ads

The current app contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking domains or PawChapter account system.

You choose what leaves

Backups, Life Books and Dog Director films leave PawChapter only when you explicitly export or share them; the local archive itself is not uploaded to a PawChapter memory service.

The short version

PawChapter does not operate a cloud account or remote memory service for the current iOS/iPadOS or Android apps. Your dog profiles, memories, Preserve progress, Paw Signals and Dog Care Rhythm history are created and maintained locally on your device. PawChapter does not sell your information, does not use it for targeted advertising, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Current platform implementation: the iOS/iPadOS privacy manifest declares tracking disabled and no collected data types, with only the required-reason system APIs used for local preferences, file timestamps and disk-space checks. The Android app does not request broad photo/media or storage access and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK.

Information kept in your PawChapter archive

When you create content in PawChapter, the app stores the information necessary to build and display your archive. Depending on what you choose to add, this may include:

This archive data is used to provide PawChapter’s features on your device. It is not uploaded to a PawChapter memory server by the current app. Paw Signals and Dog Care Rhythm are local factual journals; PawChapter does not use those records to diagnose or treat a health condition.

Photos, videos, camera and microphone

Photo and video library

PawChapter uses the platform’s system photo picker when you choose an existing photo or video (Apple’s system picker on iOS/iPadOS and Android Photo Picker on Android). This lets you select a specific item without PawChapter requesting broad, ongoing access to your entire photo or media library. The selected item is copied into the app’s private archive only after you choose it.

Camera

On iOS/iPadOS, camera access is requested only when you choose to capture a new photo or video from inside PawChapter. On Android, PawChapter uses the system camera capture flow with a temporary app-owned file URI and does not request broad camera access itself. Captured media is used for the memory you are creating and is stored in the app’s private archive.

Microphone

Microphone permission is requested only when you choose to record a sound memory. PawChapter records the audio locally and keeps the accepted recording in the private archive. Failed or cancelled temporary recordings are cleaned up.

Permissions PawChapter does not request for these features: location, contacts, health data and advertising tracking are not required by the current app.

In-app purchases and subscriptions

Premium features are purchased through Apple’s StoreKit on iOS/iPadOS and Google Play Billing on Android. PawChapter requests product information from the applicable store and uses verified purchase/entitlement state to decide which premium features are available.

Apple’s and Google’s handling of store, account and payment data is governed by their respective privacy practices and terms.

Backups, Dog Director, Life Book and sharing

Standard backups

A standard PawChapter backup is free and created locally. The current format can include dog profiles, memories, Preserve completion/progress, Paw Signals, Dog Care Rhythm records and referenced app-owned media, and is designed to move between compatible PawChapter Android and iOS builds. PawChapter can also restore supported earlier backup generations. A standard backup is not password-encrypted by PawChapter, so treat it as sensitive and store it in a location you trust.

Password-protected backups

If you choose the encrypted-backup feature, PawChapter encrypts the backup locally using AES-256-GCM with a key derived from your password using PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256. PawChapter does not transmit or retain your backup password on a developer server. If you lose that password, PawChapter cannot recover the encrypted backup for you.

Dog Director and Life Book

Dog Director films and Life Book PDFs are rendered locally on your device from memories and information you select. Dog Director can use up to 40 photo/video memories for a film, and Life Book builds its pages from selected archive content. Temporary export files are created in the app cache and are pruned automatically.

When you export or share

PawChapter uses the platform’s system document/share interfaces so that you choose the destination. Once a backup, film, PDF or other exported file is saved to Apple Files/iCloud Drive, an Android document provider, another cloud provider, messaging app, email app or other destination, that copy is controlled by the destination you selected and is subject to that provider’s privacy practices.

Network use, analytics, advertising and tracking

The current PawChapter iOS/iPadOS and Android applications do not include PawChapter-operated analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs and do not contain PawChapter application endpoints that upload your dog archive. The iOS/iPadOS privacy manifest declares tracking disabled and no collected data types. On Android, network access is used for Google Play Billing and, when configured for production purchase verification, the PawChapter billing-verification service described above; that billing flow does not upload dog profiles, memories, Preserve progress, Paw Signals, Dog Care Rhythm records, photos, videos, audio or backups.

When you contact PawChapter Support

PawChapter is developed by Luke Garrison. The seller is The Spiritual Seek - Personality Tests, located at via Milano - Roma, Italy. The privacy/support contact is lukegarrison.dev@gmail.com.

Contacting support is optional and separate from the private archive inside the app. If you submit the PawChapter support form, the developer receives the information you intentionally provide, such as your name, email address, support category, subject, optional app/device details and message.

That information is used to respond to your request, diagnose the issue, maintain correspondence and protect the support form from abuse. It is not sold or used for advertising.

The support form uses an essential PHP session for CSRF protection and rate limiting. It does not include advertising or analytics trackers. Your hosting/network provider may still generate ordinary technical access/security logs as part of operating the website.

Please do not send: payment-card numbers, App Store or Google Play passwords, device passcodes, encrypted-backup passwords or other secrets in a support request.

Retention and deletion

Security

PawChapter uses the iOS/iPadOS or Android application sandbox and app-owned storage for its local archive. The app validates imported media and backups, checks backup integrity, constrains archive extraction, and verifies premium purchase state through StoreKit or Google Play as applicable. Archive Check also verifies database integrity/links and the availability/readability of app-owned media locally without uploading the archive. When Android server verification is configured, the purchase identifier/token exchange uses HTTPS and persistent purchase-token references are stored as SHA-256 hashes. Password-protected backups use modern authenticated encryption as described above.

No storage or security method can guarantee absolute protection. Keep your device protected, maintain trusted backups, and handle exported standard backups carefully because they are outside PawChapter’s private sandbox once exported.

Children’s privacy

PawChapter does not require an in-app account and the current app does not send the local dog archive to a PawChapter server. If a child or parent contacts support, the information intentionally included in that support request is handled as described in the Support section. A parent or guardian may contact the developer to request access to or deletion of support correspondence where applicable.

Your privacy choices and rights

Most PawChapter content is under your direct control because it remains on your device. You can edit or delete memories, Paw Signals and Dog Care Rhythm entries, delete dog profiles, remove the app, or choose whether to create/export backups.

For personal information you voluntarily send to PawChapter Support, applicable privacy laws may give you rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. You can make a request using the contact details below. Identity verification may be required before acting on a request.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if PawChapter’s features, data practices or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page will be updated when a material revision is published. If a future version introduces materially different collection or transmission of personal information, the policy and applicable App Store or Google Play privacy disclosures should be updated accordingly.

Questions about privacy? Contact the PawChapter developer/privacy contact. For technical issues, the support form is usually the fastest route.
