These Terms govern your use of PawChapter on iOS, iPadOS and Android, including the local dog archive, Preserve prompts, Paw Signals, Dog Care Rhythm, creation tools, free standard backups, one-time premium unlocks and PawChapter Plus subscriptions.

Effective date: September 14, 2026. These Terms do not limit any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer law.
✓ 1. Acceptance of these Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing or using PawChapter, you agree to these Terms and to the applicable rules of the platform through which you obtained the app. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
If you use PawChapter on behalf of another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that person or organization.
◌ 2. Eligibility and responsible use
You must be legally capable of entering into the agreement that applies to your use of the app. If you are below the age at which you can enter into such an agreement in your country, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use where required.
PawChapter is intended as a personal memory, behavior-observation, everyday-care and creative-archive application. Paw Signals and Dog Care Rhythm are factual journals, not veterinary or medical diagnosis, treatment or emergency tools. PawChapter is not a veterinary, medical, emergency, legal, financial or professional record-keeping service.
◇ 3. License to use PawChapter
Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use PawChapter on devices that you own or control, or otherwise as permitted by the applicable App Store or Google Play rules.
The app is licensed, not sold. No ownership of PawChapter's software, visual design, branding, source code, documentation or other developer-owned intellectual property is transferred to you.
♡ 4. Your memories and content
You retain ownership of the content you choose to add, create, record, import or preserve in PawChapter, including photos, videos, audio, text, dog profiles and profile details, memories, Paw Signals, Dog Care Rhythm entries and related metadata.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use any content you add to the app and that your use does not violate another person's copyright, privacy, publicity or other legal rights.
PawChapter's current core archive is designed to remain in private app-owned storage on your device. When you deliberately export or share a film, Life Book, backup or other file, the exported copy is then subject to the storage location, service or recipient you selected. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
✦ 5. Features and changes
PawChapter may provide features including rich dog profiles; text, photo, video and audio memories; a 65-prompt Preserve library and completion progress; Paw Signals behavior observations and local summaries; Dog Care Rhythm factual care records and summaries; Archive Check; Dog Director; Life Book; free standard backup/restore; optional password-protected backups; multi-dog support; and other premium capabilities. Features may differ by platform, operating-system version, device capability, store availability, localization or app version.
The developer may improve, replace, remove or change features when reasonably necessary for quality, security, compatibility, legal compliance or product development. Where a change materially affects a paid entitlement, applicable consumer law and store rules remain controlling.
▣ 6. One-time premium purchases
PawChapter may offer non-consumable, one-time unlocks for Dog Director, Life Book, Forever Backup (password-protected backups), More dogs (additional dog profiles beyond the free first dog) and PawChapter Forever (all current premium features). Standard backups remain free. The exact names displayed to you may be localized by the app or store.
Store-controlled checkout: the applicable store shows the current price, currency, taxes and purchase confirmation before you buy.
Permanent entitlement: a one-time unlock is intended to remain available to the store account that purchased it, subject to successful purchase verification, store availability, account status, fraud prevention, refunds, revocations and applicable law.
Restore: where supported, PawChapter can ask the store to restore or refresh eligible prior purchases tied to your store account.
No transfer promise: purchase rights are normally associated with the purchasing Apple Account or Google account and are not promised to be transferable between unrelated store accounts.
↻ 7. PawChapter Plus subscriptions
PawChapter Plus may be offered as an auto-renewable monthly or yearly subscription. While an eligible subscription entitlement is active, the app enables the current premium feature set, including Dog Director, Life Book, password-protected backups and additional dog profiles.
Billing period: the selected monthly or yearly period is shown during the store purchase flow.
Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled according to the rules and deadlines shown by Apple App Store or Google Play.
Cancellation: uninstalling PawChapter does not itself cancel a subscription. Manage or cancel the subscription through the store account that purchased it.
Expiry or revocation: premium access may end when the store reports that the subscription has expired, been cancelled at the end of its paid term, refunded, revoked or otherwise is no longer entitled.
Price changes and offers: any price changes, trials, introductory offers or promotions are governed by the store terms and the purchase information shown to you by the store.
↩ 8. Billing, refunds and payment disputes
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, not by PawChapter directly. The store controls payment authorization, billing records, regional pricing, taxes, receipts, refund processing and payment-method information.
Requests for refunds or billing corrections should normally be made through the store where the transaction occurred, subject to that store's policies and any rights you have under applicable law. PawChapter cannot issue a store refund independently of the platform's payment system.
Do not send payment card numbers, store passwords, device passcodes or verification codes to PawChapter Support.
⬡ 9. Backups, exports and data responsibility
PawChapter provides local backup and export tools, but no backup system can guarantee that data will never be lost, corrupted, deleted, damaged, made incompatible by external software, or become unavailable because of device failure or user action. The current backup format is designed to carry profiles, memories, Preserve progress, Paw Signals, Dog Care Rhythm records and referenced app-owned media between compatible Android and iOS builds.
Standard backups: are free, created locally and are not password-encrypted by PawChapter. They may contain sensitive profile, memory, behavior, care and media data, so store them only in locations you trust.
Password-protected backups: are an optional premium feature using AES-256-GCM with a password-derived key. If you forget that password, PawChapter cannot recover it for you.
Restore replaces data: a restore operation may replace the active archive as described in the app. Review prompts carefully and maintain a separate backup when the archive matters to you.
External destinations: once you export to Files, iCloud Drive, an Android document provider, another cloud service, email, messaging or another destination, that copy is controlled by the destination you selected.
Important: keep at least one trusted backup outside the app before deleting a dog profile, removing the app, migrating devices or performing a major restore.
! 10. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse PawChapter. In particular, you may not:
use the app to violate applicable law or another person's rights;
attempt to bypass, falsify, manipulate or abuse purchase verification or premium entitlements;
interfere with the app's security, integrity, availability or normal operation;
reverse engineer, decompile or extract protected parts of the app except where such activity is expressly permitted by mandatory law;
use the app or its branding to impersonate the developer, seller, Apple, Google or another person or business.
⌁ 11. App stores and third-party services
PawChapter relies on platform services supplied by Apple and Google for functions such as distribution, purchase processing, entitlement verification, system photo/document pickers and operating-system capabilities. Your use of those third-party services is also subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
PawChapter is not responsible for outages, account restrictions, regional availability, store policy changes or other acts and omissions of third-party services outside the developer's reasonable control.
↑ 12. Updates, compatibility and availability
You are responsible for maintaining a reasonably compatible device and operating system. Updates may be required for security, store compatibility, bug fixes, backup compatibility or access to particular features.
The developer aims to keep PawChapter reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed. Some functions depend on available storage, media formats, device performance, platform APIs or store services.
○ 13. Warranty disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PawChapter is provided on an "as available" basis without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. No statement in these Terms excludes statutory guarantees, conformity rights or remedies that apply to consumers under mandatory law.
PawChapter is not a guaranteed archival preservation service. You are responsible for maintaining copies of memories that are important to you.
△ 14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer and seller are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use PawChapter, including losses caused by device failure, deletion, unavailable external storage, failed exports, third-party services or failure to maintain backups.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any non-waivable consumer rights or other liability protected by mandatory law.
⌫ 15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using PawChapter at any time. You may delete the app, but deleting it does not automatically cancel an active store subscription.
The developer may suspend access to app-controlled services or take reasonable protective action where necessary to address fraud, security threats, unlawful use or material breach of these Terms. Store-controlled entitlements may also change when Apple or Google reports a refund, revocation, expiry or other change in purchase status.
A 16. Apple App Store addendum
If you obtained PawChapter through Apple's App Store, the following also applies to the extent required by Apple's platform rules:
These Terms are between you and the PawChapter developer/seller, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for PawChapter or its content.
Your license is limited to a non-transferable right to use PawChapter on Apple-branded products you own or control, and as otherwise permitted by applicable App Store usage rules, including permitted Family Sharing or volume-purchase arrangements where applicable.
The developer, not Apple, is responsible for maintenance and support for PawChapter except to the extent applicable law requires otherwise.
To the extent a legally required warranty applies and PawChapter fails to conform, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price paid for the app itself, if any, as provided by Apple's rules. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for PawChapter.
The developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to PawChapter, including product-liability, regulatory or consumer-protection claims, and intellectual-property claims, subject to applicable law.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not listed on a U.S. Government prohibited or restricted party list, to the extent this representation is required by Apple's terms.
You must comply with applicable third-party agreement terms when using PawChapter.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce the applicable provisions against you.
G 17. Google Play addendum
If you obtained PawChapter through Google Play, your acquisition and use of the Android app is also subject to applicable Google Play terms and policies. Google controls Play billing, payment methods, receipts, account-level purchase history, refund mechanisms and subscription-management interfaces.
The developer remains responsible for PawChapter itself, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
↻ 18. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated when PawChapter's features, business practices, store requirements or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of the page will be revised when an updated version is published.
Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a material change, the developer will use a reasonable method to provide it.
§ 19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules that may apply in the country where you habitually reside.
Any dispute will be handled by the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in this section removes a consumer's right to use any mandatory local forum or remedy that cannot legally be waived.
⋯ 20. Miscellaneous
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and applicable store terms, form the agreement governing your use of PawChapter unless additional terms are expressly presented for a specific feature.
